We are often asked who took these beautiful landscape photos that can be admired on our website. Of course, we don't want to keep this from you.
It was a stroke of luck that we came across Peterson Palombo. The self-taught photographer has put together a wonderful portfolio with a lot of passion, talent, practice and an eye for the beauty of nature. His passion has accompanied him on many trips. With his pictures from the most diverse places on earth, he takes us all along on his travels. We are of course particularly pleased that many of his favorite motifs come from the Emmental. He has settled in Langnau, in the middle of the beautiful Emmental. There, the most beautiful motifs are right on the doorstep. 🙂 Many Emmental residents who know the area would be surprised at the "hills" and "ditches" that Peterson knows and puts in the spotlight.
Peterson's joy and dedication are infectious. He told me about this special moment that happened on the train to Bern one evening in early autumn and that really got him interested in photography.
It was an evening in early autumn. He was on the "Bummler" from Langnau to Bern for his night shift. As always, he sat on the left side of the train to observe the surroundings. "You always discover something new," he says with a smile. Despite the dull weather, the sky suddenly appeared in an apocalyptic light. Just near Bowil, he saw this tree in the distance, probably a linden tree, illuminated by this incredible light. Next to this gloomy doomsday mood, this image was so impressive and beautiful that he would have liked to capture it. The train continued on to Zäziwil and the image was stored in Peterson's head.
That same evening, Peterson began researching which camera would suit him and a week later he bought a Nikon D7100. That was the moment he dedicated himself to photography. The camera is different today but the joy of capturing these special moments is as great as every day. It took some time before the image in Peterson's head could be captured with the new camera. The patience was worth it.
This story and Peterson's joy touched me so much that I can no longer drive through Bowil without thinking of him. 🙂
We are very pleased about the resulting collaboration and about the following Emmental landscape pictures that we are allowed to show on our website.
This year Peterson is creating a new annual calendar with his pictures. A perfect Christmas present for private individuals but also for your company. You can find contact information for Peterson and other works here:
